The year is 2007.
Adobe Francine Kroger is sixteen, and a bomb in her brain that has been ticking since the age of ten is about to explode. Following the death of her biological father in 2001, she has been trapped in an ever accelerating spiral of abuse, neglect, trauma, addiction, promiscuity, and self destruction.
Her elder sister Riley is the final beacon of light in a world growing unfathomably dark at an alarming rate. Adobe sees Riley as what she herself could have been, were Adobe not so completely who she is.
One night, Adobe finally succumbs to her pain, but is it really too late to turn back to the light? Will she find the path to her own redemption, or will she drop out, and vanish forever into the darkness?
